Silicone Edge Graphic (SEG) Handling, Storage, Maintenance, & Cleaning Instructions
Fabric requires different care than other hard surface display materials. With proper care, your fabric product will perform well for a long time.
Handling:
- Fabric should always be handled in a clean area with clean hands and equipment. Use the white gloves and drop cloth provided.
Packing & Storage:
- Inspect and clean fabric with visible dirt or stains before packing.
- Fabric must be completely dry before packing. If wet cleaning methods are used, be sure to allow time for drying before packing.
- As always, be sure to handle in a clean area with clean hands and equipment.
- Fold fabric inside out or face in along seams and then roll.
- Disassemble frame and, if possible, bundle pieces.
- Frame and fabric are labeled – place back in corresponding bags.
- Use original shipping components (bags, boxes, cases, etc.) when packing and storing fabric & frame.
- Store product in a cool, dry area (40-80F).
Maintenance:
- Some fabrics are not appropriate for machine washing. Contact your Account Team for cleaning guidelines for specific fabrics.
- As a general rule, we do not recommend using dryers.
- Wrinkles caused by packing typically disappear within hours of being set up, but fabric may be ironed, on or off the frame. Use Permanent Press Setting and non-waxed, non-inked paper between iron and fabric. Keep iron in constant motion and if present, avoid spandex edging.
- Lint or dust can be removed with a static wipe, such as Swiffer.
- Fabric may be hand vacuumed with upholstery attachment.
- Inspect fabric periodically and treat stains promptly.
Emergency Stain Treatment:
Many stains can be removed when treated promptly and appropriately. Most fabrics can be spot cleaned. If possible, remove the fabric cover from the frame. Identify the stain before you treat it.- Lift, scrape or blot as much of the stain off as possible. (Blot with provided white cloth or similar material. Avoid paper products.)
- Work from the outside edge toward the center of the stain.
- Lift drier materials like loose dirt, pencil, or ink with masking tape.
- Most natural stains may be treated with distilled water. Use water sparingly – too much may cause water stains or spread original stain.
- Apply water to the back of the stain and force it through fabric by pushing on the backside while stretching the fabric, using care to keep the wet area as small as possible.
- Repeat procedure until the water runs clear.
- For stains not responsive to water, follow the Stain Removal Guide.
- Use the manufacturer’s recommended instructions.
- Apply treatments from the side away from the stain (usually the inside face of the fabric).
- Rinse cleaners with distilled water, blotting from the outside of the stain in to the center and dry thoroughly to avoid spreading the stain.
- Consult your Account Team with any questions.
